One of the most beloved icons among Emerson College professors in the Speech Department, Ken Crannell was an outstanding teacher, performer, master at oral interpretation of literature, friend and brother.

When the Phi Alpha Tau National Alumni Board decided to establish an award for outstanding alumni brothers, they felt it was fitting to not only honor these outstanding alumni brothers each year, but to also permanently honor our esteemed alumni, brother, Professor, and Doctor Kenneth Crannell by naming the award after him.
The criteria to use as guidance for this award are:

– Noteworthy contribution to the Emerson College community.
– Noble personal achievement.
